Job Description

Ori is looking for the right person to join the manufacturing team responsible for managing transfer of our first and future CGT products into manufacture, and ongoing improvements after commercialization. This position will integrate with the R&D team at Ori and will liaise with our contract manufacturers and supply chain, as well as our internal product development team and external development partners, to ensure rapid and high-quality delivery of product designs into full scale manufacture.

Hybrid: Cambridge, UK and Remote

Key Responsibilities

The manufacturing engineer has the following responsibilities –

  • Participation in design reviews during development as a stakeholder representative for manufacturing
  • Managing of third-party suppliers to ensure requirements are met to agreed deadlines
  • Facilitation and participation in process reviews, pFMEAs, and supplier evaluations
  • Supervision of supplier process and tooling validation activities
  • Integrating principles for good design for manufacture and assembly into the product development process and design

Experience

What would convince us:

  • Experience working in an ISO 13485 product development or manufacturing QMS
  • Experience of risk management tools used within a manufacturing context, such as PFMEAs or Fault Tree Analysis
  • Experience of root cause analysis for engineering problems in a development or manufacturing context
  • Experience of the New Product Introduction process in manufacturing
  • Experience working with (or designing for) standard manufacturing processes, such as injection moulding, heat sealing, ultrasonic welding, sheet metal forming
  • Experience of statistical process validation of tooling and/or automation
  • Experience working with external manufacturing organisations
