Ori is looking for an individual to develop and establish a high performing software engineering team capable of designing, developing and delivering a strategy for software on the Ori platform as we take a technology to market which designed to increase the availability and affordability of CGT to treat diseases.

This position will interact with key stakeholders and upper management across the business and is critical to the success of our products and company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment, Line management and personal development of a team of highly skilled developers, frontend, backend and instrument software.
  • Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level. Ori’s software stack spans: Motion control software running on PLCs, embedded firmware, Linux OS’s, local web applications (UI) and external APIs for connectivity.
  • Definition, creation, and maintenance of the CI/CD environment and managing software versioning, release, and change processes.
  • Hardening and vulnerability management of systems and software.
  • Define delivery phases of the project including activities, sub-activities, and milestones ensuring these are documented and used as the basis for the project event log, issues and risk log and any subsequent reporting
  • Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle. Participate in reviews and meetings and provide updates on project progress
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards


  • Proven experience in leading and managing the delivery of system/software (ideally as part of an electro-mechanical product)
  • Experience in variety of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience in both architecture and implementation-level software design
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry, e.g. medical, nuclear, aviation.
  • A desire to remain technically capable and an expert in current technologies


  • BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng, PhD within a Life Science, Engineering or Computer Software subject
