City of Hope.

This academic medical center operates both internal and external CGT programs and is focused on advancing product optimization to ensure long-term commercial scalability. In March 2025, they introduced the IRO® platform to evaluate how advanced automation could strengthen their existing technology stack, enhance process performance, and support scale without compromising biological integrity.

  • "Saw an improvement in cell growth (19.4 fold expansion in IRO on day 9 vs 15.1 fold expansion in the control on day 10), a reduction in operator touch time (32 hours for the IRO arm vs 48 hours in the control), and comparable transduction efficiency, phenotype, and purity. This is against a control that we've been optimizing and using internally for 10-15 years."
